Terry Aaker, a native South Dakotan, moved back from Minnesota and joined Schmucker, Paul, Nohr and Associates in 1996. Since joining the firm, Mr. Aaker has gained a wealth of experience in all aspects of the civil and municipal engineering discipline. In 2002, Terry became a Principal of Schmucker Paul, Nohr and Associates.

Over the last 26 years, Terry has developed a passion and enthusiasm for water and wastewater projects in particular and municipal projects in general. Terry has a great deal of experience working in the analysis of water supply and distribution systems and wastewater collection and treatment systems. This experience allows Terry to see the big picture and think outside the box to find the best possible solutions which is valuable in evaluating your water and wastewater systems.

Terry’s strengths are his project communication and coordination skills, his personal integrity, and his desire to provide the best client service in the market. Mr. Aaker takes great pride in his ability to make the project enjoyable for all involved: the client, the engineer and the contractor.

After working for a private engineering firm and the South Dakota Department of Environmental Protection, Mr. Quenzer joined Schmucker, Paul, Nohr and Associates in 1977. Since joining the firm, Harlan has been involved as a Project Design Engineer and Project Manager in all aspects of the civil and municipal engineering discipline including planning, design, construction, contract administration and post project operation and maintenance issues for many of the wastewater projects performed by the corporation.

In 1985, Mr. Quenzer became a Principal of Schmucker Paul, Nohr and Associates. Since that time, Harlan has been involved with the project management.

Over the last 33 years, Mr. Quenzer has gained a great deal of experience working in all facets of municipal projects. His experience gives him the ability to foresee potential construction and maintenance issues which translate into quality projects that meet the long term needs of the clients for whom he works. His experience has provided a knowledge and understanding of the rules and regulations of the regulatory and funding agencies.

Mr. Quenzer has strong communication and coordination skills which he uses in his contacts with the contractors and his clients. These skills combined with his personal integrity and his desire to provide the best client service in the market are only several of the reasons that the firm of Schmucker, Paul, Nohr & Associates has maintained long term relationships with clients that have existed since he joined the firm in 1977.
